Not another forecourt, and not the closed, invitation-only world of enthusiast circles either. Just somewhere straightforward to buy or sell a country vehicle worth taking seriously.

Road & Acre is founder-led, built by someone who's spent years building businesses where long-term relationships, trust and reputation are everything. Cars came first, though. Alex has loved them from an early age, and has been fortunate enough to own, enjoy and care for exceptional vehicles since getting behind the wheel of his first car at seventeen.

Road & Acre is simply those two things brought together: the patience it takes to build something on trust, and a genuine appreciation for vehicles worth keeping. Not a badge, not a business model borrowed from elsewhere. Just an honest way of doing right by exceptional vehicles and the people who've cared for them.

A note from Alex

I didn't set out to start a business. I set out to stop watching good vehicles go to the wrong places.

I've been around vehicles like these for as long as I can remember, and I've seen good ones go to people who never really understood what they had. That never sat right with me. A vehicle that's been looked after properly for years has more going for it than most things you can buy new, and it deserves a buyer who knows that, not just a listing.

That's really the whole reason this exists. Honesty, because a vehicle's history is the only thing that tells you what it will do next. Care, because the people who've kept these vehicles well have usually put more into them than money, and passing them on carelessly would waste what they did. And small, on purpose, because I can only vouch properly for what I've actually seen and driven myself.

I'm not trying to build the biggest name in this. I'd rather be the one you ring first.

What won't change

Three things we won't trade away for growth.

Small, on purpose

We could chase volume and hold three times the vehicles. We'd know a third as much about each one. That's not a trade worth making.

Honest, even when it's not easy

We'll walk away from vehicles that don't meet the standard, and tell owners things about their own cars they might not want to hear. It's the only way any of this is worth trusting.

Hampshire, not everywhere

We're not looking to open a second site, or a third. We'd rather stay close to home and let the vehicles travel to their keepers instead.
